FAQ
What is Onion River Press?
Onion River Press is a locally owned publishing firm that is a sister company to Phoenix Books. We work to help authors, illustrators and organizations bring their work to bookstores across the country.
Who can publish with Onion River Press?
Any author, at any stage of the writing or design process can start working with us.
Who prints Onion River Press books?
We use IngramSpark for our printing. There are a large number of format options from size to paper weight to hardcover or paperback. In addition, IngramSpark gives the author automatic access to Ingram Distribution, the lifeblood of bookstores across the country.
What is the cost of printing?
Each project is different therefore there is no set printing fee for all books. Onion River Press will supply the author with a print estimate based off of the parameters of their novel discussed in the first meeting. Printing fees are due in full when the order is placed by Onion River Press to the printer.
How do authors sign up?
Authors with publishing inquiries or questions may fill out the contact form on our website. After sending an inquiry, we ask for your patience as Onion River Press can not guarantee an immediate response due to high demand.
What if the author is previously published?
No problem, they can republish their works with us or leave them with their previous publisher and work with Onion River Press going forward.
The author wants to publish with Onion River Press, but the work isn’t ready, can we help?
Absolutely. We can connect authors with an editor to help with anything from concept to copyediting. Or if authors need a designer to help with getting their book into the proper format for printing or coming up with a cover concept, we can help with that too.
Will Phoenix Books automatically carry Onion River Press books?
Yes, no matter what package you chose we will purchase 8 copies for distribution to our three PB locations.
